Monster making pays off for Madison College graduate

"Tyler is my boss. He's the Chief Fluff Brains and I'm the Chief Monster Maker," said Kaeti Lindquist, explaining how her business is structured. Tyler, the namesake of Lindquist's Tyler Poncho stuffed animal line, is a four-foot tall red stuffed dragon. Graduating in May from the graphic design program, Lindquist finds herself in a position that most graduates only dream of. The sudden success of Tyler Poncho has her contemplating hiring someone to help her sew so she can keep up with orders from stores and online. "I wasn't really serious about it at all when I first was doing it, but it was really slow build up until February this year. Six weeks sober

The stigma surrounding college students is, typically, that we're immature, irresponsible, drunks. Although Madison Area Technical College may be an exception for this mis-informed understanding (after all, UW Madison is the party school of the nation…) there might be some arguable truth to this statement.In the college student's defense, I think we're just confused. About two months ago, I was one of the students described above, unfortunately, even to an extreme. It was much easier to indulge in the stigma, then fight it.
